Personally I'd go near the 120 but you can upgrade it yourself and save some money or procure an external drive to offload pics, music and files. You can even make it bootable using cloning software. Don't know anything roughly speaking Ghz or Sims. As for the difference between the Combo and SD, on the combo drive you can listen to and burn CDs and watch DVDs, on the SD you can burn CDs and DVDs along next to watching DVDs and listening to CDs.
