Gateway MX6025 laptop computer will not adopt power. The battery-operated shows that it is 25 percent charged.?

When plugging the ac adapter into the part, it does not look like it will adopt a charge. Upon attempting to power up the computer, the gateway screen and bios performance comes up, but before it does anything else, the computer shuts rear down. The light on the front that is to say usually blue for the battery when plugged contained by, or purple when directly running off the freestyle now blinks red beforehand the unit shuts down. Of data, there be a bad lightning storm yesterday, but the component was plugged into a power banister. When I got home from work end night, I turned the computer on and surfed the internet for something like 45 minutes and then permit my son get on the internet. Within a couple of minutes the computer shut down. I agree to the Geek Squad look at it briefly today and they used an universal power supply and said that it would not adopt a charge. It is out of warranty. Any Ideas??

Get yourself a new battery-operated and power supply. After a recently lightening storm, we lost the power adapter. It would not lantern up when powered on.

Yours sounds like a inert battery. I've gone through 3 battery on my 5 year old Dell. The old-fashioned BIOS just didn't toy with the batteries all right and they eventually built up a charge memory. Despite charging all darkness, they would hold a charge. Unplug the AC and the laptop would die immediately.

Gateway should own replacement parts, mine cost around $40 for the AC adapter. Don't remember the battery, get some from a friend when he disposed of his.

Otherwise, check for a Batteries Plus store. They might be able to attain you a good 3rd knees-up alternative.
Well Power Adapters do often budge bad short warning, but if it would not even charge when Geek Squad tried near a universal adapter next that may not be the problem.

One note, not adjectives universal power adapters charge battery, some only donate you AC Power but no charge.

It is also possible the battery died, but usually specifically a gradual process, but it may have purely died completely.

Other then it person either the battery-operated or the charger, the only other problem could be the mother board. this probably didnt resolve your problem, but perchance give you idea's of what to try subsequent.
