try pressing the hash sign...what does that confer you?
To the best of my Knowledge that is the American symbol for the pound sign. I may be wrong though hope this help.
Have you spilled any liquid on your the ivories because that would have altered the electrical system system in the part. Because that happened to me and i took my laptop to an scheme and he explained it to me and I had to hold another keyboard put surrounded by.
