i get mine from Staples for around lb400, it has the most modern windows and fairly good spec's for the price...but you can go and get other brand new laptops for lb300 effortlessly if you shop around.PC world might be worth a look
They tend to hold their value deeply well! Have you considered a alien one? You can get a justifiable spec for lb400 or even lb300 if you really cut corners. Thing is if you get a 2nd mitt one the battery will probably be on it's final legs and that's lb50 to replace on many of them. I'd simply bother with this route if your going for a solid cheap one (lb50 or so). Although I'd not expect much for that kind of money. Maybe try classified ad in your local serious newspaper. Might find someone selling one who doesn't realise what it's worth. They tend to go for a open-minded bit on ebay and the like.

Check the in-store prices of units at Best Buy and Circuit City. I get a really nice one for grandson for $499. Labor Day sales should own some great buys, just get hold of there rash since quantity if incredibly limited. Some of the bureau supply stores have biddable prices at the holidays so don't forget to check the ads.

any reputable store should be fine, compUSA, Best Buy, Circut City etc. buying in the store is across the world cheaper than online. for a better deal try getting a laptop that is to say a few months old, they're still plenty latest but not first strig price anymore. I understand that you call for a good deal but try not to downgrade too much. for exaple avoid Acer, a discount laptop brand. I've overheard service reps at CompUSA chitchat about how within the latest delivery of 10 laptops they recieved, 7 started up blue screen the first time they be turned on. you don't want those kind of likelihood.
I recommend buying one from compusa simply because they will be more likely to answer any industrial questions you may own as they are a computer store. I bought my laptop from there and the associates be extremely helpful. Also compusa other have great deal on laptops year round. So you are sure to find one for your daughter there at a great price.
