Windows XP installation Problem?

Okay, when I try to install window XP onto my laptop, it's an old Dell Latitude CPi, it go through all of the screen just fine (formatting unsurprisingly, so I can't even restore the files) and then it go to the final installation screen, where on earth it says time disappeared for installation _minutes. The damn thing in recent times sits at 39 minutes and will not continue. Then an error message pops up truism that files were missing and the disk might be worn out. Can anyone help me out, please?

Answer:

some windows xp cd are only just used to restore with a folder on your computer, that means, you do not own windows xp full versionl.
within this case you only just buy the full version of Windows XP and install agan, this will work. virtuous luck
