I own a Gateway 400SD4 laptop. It will not come on next to or minus freestyle within and plugged into wall. Help!!!

It sounds approaching your laptop has a power supply problem. You can try removing the freestyle and just using the AC adapter and see if it powers on. Also check and generate sure your wall outlet is working and that a fuse has not be blown.
If it will not work with the battery-operated in or out and even next to the AC adapter, then depending on how old-fashioned it is, I would contact Gateway or take it to a computer store surrounded by your area.
One other entity is that maybe the freestyle and the AC adapter have blown at impossible to tell apart time. Go buy a new AC adapter try it out and see if the laptop powers on. If so, consequently you know that the adapter was doomed to failure, if not after just return the AC Adapter to the store for a discount and head to the nearest shop to own it looked at. Did you have a power surge just this minute that may have adjectives out your laptop?
