elder 40 gb powerbook has inexact wires that make eyeshade fuzzy on bottom 3 inches of screen.. i would similar to to detach it and somehow hook it up to my new one and use it as an extra display.. anyone?

forget it, cant be done. sorry.
The connections for the laptop monitors are totally incompatible near external connections. The conversion would probably cost more than a new monitor.
