Answer:
cpu should NOT be the biggest concern when buying a laptop ... it should be one of the least concerns imo ... however an intel unpaid model will probably give slightly better mobile life ... out of both of those the biggest limiting factor on speed will be the 4200rpm harddrive ... they seem to be pretty equal and my final choice would be on which one looked better to me and had the best looking peak ...
Go with this one:

It's better. Has a better processor (AMD rocks!), better graphics, and it's better overall.
Before axiom anything I just want to vote, that I personally reflect on Intel is better than AMD.
Now..
Although, in this suitcase, the AMD looks like a better utility deal. All the extras are flawless. I would choose AMD.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Ok dude first past its sell-by date... AMD Turion 64x2 is an AWESOME PROCESSSOR!
I am definetly telling you to carry the second one for 2 reasons:
1. The first Toshiba is sold out (dont know if you saw that
2. The 2nd have awesome graphics... great RAM and AMD is a lot better surrounded by my opinion.
The 64x2 will confer you great speed to which you can't believe
So please get the second laptop...
2gb of RAM: GREAT FOR VISTA and FAST!
ATI graphics: The best style of graphics other than Nvidea
AMD Turion 64 x2processor: Fast as flimsy! just approaching twice the speed going through the computer so you can have multiple programs up beside no slow down!
Windows Vista: THe best program on the market right presently
Get the second one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...
Hope this helps
I own AMD on my laptop nd it's just as angelic as intelinside.
I've been looking at latest laptops and ive seen a really biddable one with a 120gb sturdy drive, 1gb ram, a builtin webcam and mic, lightscribe for printing lables on disks and a hd eyeshade with touch nouns controls and quickstart to watch tv or movies short starting your pc its quicker than starting it up. It's made by hp. Its a hp 6244 if u surrounded by the uk, on play.com its only lb450 contained by the sale near free delivery
Does it enjoy to be a Windows machine? The 13" MacBook from Apple is a great gadget, with competitive features and price, and a great software bundle. I would give it a try-out drive at an Apple store before making the final judgment.
And then it have that coolness factor...
Hp Pavillion dv9500t
Ultimate laptop for me in this planet
Intel is much better Core 2 Duo
Vista Home Premium 3 GB Ram optionalsized hardrive
The latest Apple Series is also looking good
Dell Inspiron 1501 or 1505. Great adjectives round laptops at a reasonable price. They will build it as you directive. They also let you choose what processor you want and betwen XP or Vista for the O/S. They also own specials and discounts.
The processors are comparable to each other, but looking at the other specs, both of these laptops own built-in graphics cards. This means that the memory required to run your graphics card will be taken from your RAM. so if your running 256mb graphics, your knock against available will instantly be 256mb less. Out of the 2 I would opt for the second one - it have a larger HD as well as better graphics expertise - I would think around upgrading the RAM to 4mb.
Hope that helps.
Oh yeah, Windows Vista have A LOT of compatablity problems with even slightly elder programs (and hardware for that matter - especially printers- if its not SPECIFICALLY say-so it will work with window vista...it probably won't-DAMN U MICROSOFT!) Try to get XP if you can- much more compatable (at lowest for now).
The intel core 2 duo is the best CPU on the market for LTs. Check out the modern Dell 1520.
