Help picking a Laptop?
I'm looking at getting a laptop for university subsequent year. I'd like to know how to play games on it as well as doing projects and research. So I'll entail all the palpable things like; it self fairly flimsy, having a nice upright, a few USB ports, ports for a keyboard and mouse to be attached, printer and scanner port and one of those so you can connect it to a monitor, an inbuilt webcam, DVD-RW, and hurricane lantern scribe would be pretty cool, but not necessary. I'll entail WiFi too. Any other suggestions of what I'll need?
Price isn't too historic.
At Harvey Norman they recommended the Asus G1 notebook.
Could anyone recommended a good laptop, notify me if that is a suitable one from Harvey Norman, and tell me what system specs I involve.

The Dell XPS series. Great for games and everything else... I'm not sure if you can get a built within webcam but you can get a webcam for lower than $60 these days...
macbook pro, it does adjectives that you ask of it, and is the best of multiple worlds in that it runs ALL OS's that run on the intel platform (since the mac is very soon based upon intel).
achieve 1 spec'd w/ 2 gigs of memory though as macos is about as bloaty as window XP/Vista
I just finished my first year at college and I get a Dell Inspiron for it. Dual 1.83 processors - 1 GB of Ram - WinXP - integrated video and sound. Runs WoW and C/C:Generals particularly smoothly. DVD burner too.
I personally get the 17" screen which be a horrible decision, looking support I'd get the smallest one possible. Dell have several USB ports which would cover most of the new devices out at hand like printers and scanners but it does hold the serial port and a monitor port. And on most new laptops you are going to own the wifi in near too. Unfortunately no camera on there, but not a soul really does besides Macs.
Some friends of mine got HP's and Compaq's but their laptops consistently are hotter than mine which is an issue for their lap.
I suggest buying a thing call "The Lapinator Plus" that is great for have around a dorm. Also a note taking programs is handy but surplus to requirements.
Consider HP TX1000 series, damn good for projects and games, have rotating screen, 1 GB RAM , dual core processor and finger printer reader etc I mull over this will be best choice
The Acer Aspire notebook series is good.It haslots of functions and can be bought at an affordable price, (i guess that doesn't matter) the higher-end models fit the specifications you are looking for. I am at Uni myself& am currently using such a model.

I would significantly recommend a Toshiba laptop.
this site will give you a sony vaio laptop merely for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want/need a laptop (like me).
