Check one thing first, that the Brightness is turned up, and not set to minimum that make it appear dim....
If that doesn't do it, it could be a number of things, none of which you can fix.... The "Backlight' is fried, the video card unit of the motherboard is fried, some connection to the LCD Screen thru the hinge is damaged, or the LCD itself have a problem.
You can thank your lucky stars that it's still new and below manufacturer's warranty and contact them immediately, and convey it in for free repair.
You might want to transport your hard drive out up to that time sending it in so that they don't erase adjectives your stuff, which they can and/or sometimes will do without relating you.
They will allow you to send it surrounded by with the complicated drive removed to fix a video issue. I've done it many times for clients whose laptops needed repairs excluding for a defective drive.
It's much safer that way, and it's glib to remove and reinstall a laptop hard drive surrounded by most cases.
Answer number two above, is right about trying an external monitor and if the external monitor does works after it's not the video card section of the motherboard, But there's no such piece as a driver fix for a video BIOS on the motherboard. A driver is software that loads during boot-up and allows the operating system to utilize the built-in video properly.
There are such things as BIOS Updates and they can fix various issues on the motherboard, but not a broken video subdivision of a motherboard...IMPOSSIBLE ! ! ! !

the lcd display in the peak might be broken. i had one and the same problem with my behind the times laptop. i could barely see the peak but i could make it out if i looked easier said than done. i had a dell. you want to appointment tech support. hope that helps.
ur battery-operated may be fried, or it got a virus.
Get somebody who know how and try to swap out the video card (if it is seperate) or check the settings for the video. ALmost sounds like a hardware problem, not unusual for packard bell. I once have a computer instructor describe packard bells as "glorified paperweights". Hope you can fix it. Maybe it is still on warranty!
It is the back insubstantial. Somehow it became broken. The single way to fix it is to pinch it to someone, try it yourself, or send it contained by to the manufacturer.

First article i suggest, if you have a monitor for a desktop workstation around, plug it in on the port at the subsidise of the laptop, then plug within the power/battery of the laptop, and see if the display comes up on the monitor.
If it does, the resolution may turned right down, brightness and contrast are out of alignment and need resetting.
If it doesn't come up on the monitor any, it's most likely the driver for the display on the mainboard (BIOS).
An up to date BIOS flash MAY fix this, but most probable wont.
Last thing is the LCD itself, it may hold given up the ghost.
Try the external display BEFORE taking it to a tech. , you may set free the cost of a expensive repair, the laptop may not be worth the expense of a new LCD, they are greatly expensive items as spare parts
