What's the best Tablet PC next to the most report for my buck?

I'm a tech, pictographic artist, web admin, student, and not the richest guy within the world. The approximate specs I'm looking for are:

- Under 6lbs
- Screen size doesn't matter
- Ram doesn't event, but ultimately I'd like to own 2gb
- Pentium M 1.66 or greater, at very least possible 1mb cache
- I'd like to hold a dvd burner, but it's not the highest priority
- Battery Life would hold to be at least 3-4 hours
- At impressively most $1200, preferably lower than $1000

NOTE: Please answer this question just if you're familiar beside the tech community, and PLEASE don't answer with things close to "Dells are the best" or "I got this one and it's nice".

Thanks again everyone.
