40gb laptop sturdy drive problem?

i hold 15 games installed on my laptop equaling to 8gb and and personal files equaling to 5gb and have installed zilch else since buying the laptop except aol internet. i have cleaned adjectives files and folders, defragmentated and disk cleanup wizard yet i merely have 8gb moved out on hard drive. laptop is 4 months feeble. is this normal for window programs to take up this much space or is it something else?

No, Windows programs don't transport up that much space. I would look into how much space those 15 games are taking up. Run Adaware (adaware.com) it will clean up cr@p internet files.
