Whats the best adjectives around laptop for a college student?

Im merely gonna be doin the basics....writing papers, presentations, going online, burning cds/dvds.....so i dont want anything 2 fancy that i dont know how 2 use, but i dont want something that will be outdated within 2 yrs....and should i get 1 w/ window vista or no?

Answer:
I have have good experience beside Toshiba. It has a comparatively low price and tend to have the popular features.

If you are simply doing basic things it is harder to seize outdated. When a new laptop comes out it will run faster and will hold drivers for some newer peripheral devices but everything you hold now will still work. If you want to be the human being on the cutting fold and the one with the fastest and biggest computer you will other lose in language of being outdated. If you of late stick to regular activities as you programmed almost any one will be OK.

Features to look out for are how much does it weigh (if you are going to carry it around a lot), how big is the eyeshade (so you don't strain your eyes squinting), and as much memory and hard drive as you can afford (compared to the competitors).
Get a Mac!
Mac is the best.
If you buy a Windows-based computer, by adjectives means take one that can run Vista. But keep within mind that Vista comes in 4 version. If you want to make sure that you will enjoy a computer that does not become outdated in 2 years, produce sure that it will run the full version of Vista.

HOWEVER, you really should consider getting a Macbook instead. The hot Macbooks will run BOTH Windows and the MacOS. Nothing is easier than using a Mac, not even Vista. And while Windows computers have a serious problem beside viruses, that simply is not the skin with a Mac. The out-of-date knock against Macs was that they did not own as much software or connectible hardware available. But now that the Macs will run BOTH systems, they in actuality have more than Windows. And you still own the benefits of the MacOS ease of use and financial guarantee.

Good luck!!
I agree with dlant6, catch a Mac. The rest are made in China in a minute, no matter what the brand, even Sony. If you inevitability a laptop that runs Windoze look at the Asus or Acer America. Check them out at http://www.newegg.com/product/productlis...
I've had one of respectively brand and, for the price, either will thrash the pants bad the HP-Compact, Dell, Gateway or Toshiba. The Sony's are pretty good for Chinese cast-offs (yes, they are all made within China now) but they are also pricey.
Good luck, buy a Mac
dude, get a dell

For a college student, may I suggest a mainstream system. Since you don't have need of a super techy one try to get one near a Windows Operating system (if you are familiar with) if Vista is available at like peas in a pod price get it, Intel processor (Core Duo). I am assuming you are working on a budget and requests something to last adjectives thru your college years. I would like to suggest you look at lowest possible two brands, Dell & HP are the first. Dell has a totally good reputation and back by second to none support service. HP has more models to choose from. For a few bucks, try to obtain one with extended warranty. If possible three (3) years. Don't achieve unknown brands or whiteboxes (clones). Don't try to get a part with profusely of bells & whistle this will just put in to your cost. Also ask your friends what are their experience. Good luck on your studies and hope I help a moment or two!
