How would i install xp at my laptop hp dv6000 beside vista Home premium ?
its taking ages to start,shutdown and most of time application get suspend and not responding...i don't want to remove it because its registered version and might be gain better in some time as it happend next to every new window OS...in start.
i own 120 GB hard drive and 1024 MB RAM.
Pentium dual core processor.
system HP Pavillion dv6000.
i tried to install xp professional but vista dont permit it install.
and it hid the unyielding drive from xp when i install xp ,xp say nearby is no hard drive detected...does it mingy i hav to uninstall vista first?(wich i dont want)
is there any solution?
any relieve will be greatly appreciated.

You can partition you concrete drive and install XP on the new separator since it looks like you enjoy plenty of room.

You can create a virtual PC with XP on it
using MS Virtual PC program, but this won't be as verbs and it run kind of unexpected in my experience.

First of all I believe you will find that the hang ups and slow start up and shut down of Windows Vista is due to the reality that you have the minimum required RAM. Increasing your RAM will resolve this issue.
The other solution to installing XP would be to dividing wall the drive and put XP on the partition.
ALOT of nation are unhappy next to vista. I use XP Pro on MOST of my systems at home. But here, you are unfairly blaming vista. This is not vista's mistake and not HP's fault. Take my words for this, installing XP on the HP-DV model is a pain, your model have SATA-Raid option set to on, and XP wont be in motion on it because it needs a driver previously XP can see the hard drive, immediately..do you see a floppy drive on your model to install the drivers during XP install ? no... so you are stuck.
You can turn off the Sata substitute in BIOS, but consequently your Vista may not work correctly.
Other way is to slip the SATA drivers into the XP disc, and thats no easy favour.
Best way would be to create a separate NTFS hedge on the hard drive and later boot to the Windows XP install disk, installing only to the up to date partion and creating the dual boot configuration. There are some issues with this per Microsoft (see source). At some time contained by the future when you are organized to go to Vista forever, you can copy adjectives your settings to a DVD or external hard drive, verbs them into the Vista Premium partition using the Easy Transfer utlility, and consequently delete the old XP divider.
