Troubleshooting on compact disc Reading on DVD drive?
I enjoy a laptop w/ DVD/CD Drive... Before it reads adjectives of the CDs (PC games and installation CDs) I insert except DVD....It cant read the DVD
After some few months, the reverse happened, when I tried to insert a DVD, it be read and I was so beaming because I can already watch the movies contained by my laptop... But the thing is, adjectives of my other CDs (such as CD for installation of programs and PC games) can't be read by the disc drive...
I went to the "My Computer" and the compact disc drive menu and it was unoccupied even there is a compact disc was inserted excluding DVD
What should I do? Is it a hardware problem or a software problem?
All answers are gladly appreciated...Pls. aid...
Answer:
I think here is a problem with the computer detecting the software conceivably you could try uninstalling it and re-installing it.
Have you looked in Device Manager to see if the drive is here? (start>control Panel>system>hardware>device manager) If it is there you can try to rejuvenate the drivers for the drive.
Also, some malware can effect the drive so make sure your system is verbs.
Depending on the notebook, the drive can easily be replaced and is to some extent cheap.
