Answer:
On your desktop

Right click the mouse and select properties

Go to settings tab

Select multiple monitors from the drop down menu

click the checkbox near the wrapping up that sayes extend my windows desktop (if you want the ame picture on your laptop and TV dont select)

and presently its only a thing of getting the screen res settings for your TV right.

Click on the picture of the monitor within the box and mess around with the settings.

TIP: exit the lid of the laptop closed while connecting to the tv, when you open the lid the second monitor should be enabled

You can also use a PHILIPS SLM5500 wireless multimedia adapter to connect wirelessly next to a PC
use a sv cable these work the best
you have to communicate the laptop to send the video through the VGA output (15 pin d sub). It's severely easy - you should enjoy a blue Fn button on the keyboard. Just press & hold that button, after press the function button that has "CRT/LCD" printed within blue. I have an Dell inspiron E1405, and that's how I do it (the CRT/LCD is located on F8 on my keyboard). It's probably tremendously similar to the XPS m140.

I'm not sure that McGyver06 is exactly answering your question. He is recitation you how to span your display across two monitors (your LCD display on the laptop & the TV). This will basically split your blind to two devices - half of the display on the laptop, the partner on the TV. If I understand you correctly, you want the entire display to be on your TV, and possibly like peas in a pod display on the laptop. Follow my instructions if you want that. I use this method all the time to display powerpoint on a projector.

If you a looking to span, afterwards follow McGyver06 - sorry if I cause any confusion
