Assuming it's not a Mac, there are a couple of ways to find out contained by Windows.
1. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System
A. General tab shows CPU and memory.
B. Hardware tab -> Device Manager shows more detail.
2. Start -> Run -> enter "dxdiag" -> OK. This gives you details that are of interest to games and team game developers.
Go to start, run and type dxdiag. That will tell you abundantly...IF you are running wondows.
Click start, all programs, frills, system tools, system information
One of the best I have found is www.belarc.com. Find the tab that have the free advisor and run it. It will surprise you what all it will report. It is not spyware or virus, I own used and recommended it for over 6 years.

When you run the AIDA32 utility on the notebook, it will provide you the detailed hardware and software specifications of the notebook.
click start,eyeshade will show you what to do,you can go to control panel to have visions like printers,hardware,sound,instal... software and deeply more. go to -my computer- and it will explain to about you`r computer . ( this is for pc`s using windows)
