My friend's fresh Dell say 896 RAM instead of 1028 or a see. Is Vista tally wrong or is in attendance a 128 stick doomed to failure?

I haven't taken it apart, but I doubt there's a stick of 128 contained by the computer because that would mean there's a 512, a 256, & just 1 of 2 128's inside. Doesn't make sense does it?

Surely there's 2 sticks of 512 inside. It's the Dell Inspiron 1501 from lone a month ago, but I couldn't find any detailed info about how lots slots are inside.

I installed Vista a week ago on my Toshiba p25-s507 and it says there's a Gig installed, so I know something isn't right beside hers.

The memory count on the is Dell accurate what happens is that when the computer doesn't own a separate video card with its on memory on it ,the entrenched video circuit on the motherboard will reserve some of the memory for its own use.
its using the missing 128mb of memory as video ram. it have integrated graphics so it does that
you'll never have adjectives the memory available to use. there are parts of the memory that is to say allocated for it's use, thus leaving you next to less than what is stated. if you enjoy a pc tools software that allows you to defrag the memory, later use it to free up some extra space.
I didnt understand everything that my bf told me the other darkness. He has Vista and be losing memory, its being lost because vista keep making backups or something..

you wouldnt call for have that much memory if you ditched winblows and picked up ubuntu
It's severely simple. Your friend's Dell has 1 GB of RAM but Vista can't never use it fully because the Dell laptop also have an Integrated graphic card (bad) -- designation that the system memory is shared between the OS and the Video card.
