I am something like to buy a notebook computer. Does anyone enjoy any recommendation re Vista or XP op sys? ?memory?

What roughly refurbished models?

Answer:
Get Vista!

Everyone's saying not to carry Vista because it has problems.adjectives those problems are are driver problems. The people that enjoy these problems are people trying to install Vista within their home PC's.if you buy a laptop, because its pre-built and tested, you won't have Vista problems because adjectives the hardware and software of the laptop is built and tested to specifically run Vista! XP is not a bad choice, but if you're investing within a laptop I would purchase one with Vista.
Vista also have better memory/power management than XP, so your laptop freestyle will last longer!

As far as memory, label sure it has at smallest 1 GB of DDR2 RAM (at least 800mhz) You want the greater speed RAM for a laptop because it runs faster and uses less power than the slower run into, therefore your freestyle life will be superior!

I would buy a new laptop, but if you insist on buying a refurbished model, buy through Dell's refurbished notebook program. And whether or not you buy a exotic or refurbished laptop, always seize the warranty! Notebooks are not easy to fix on your own, and are prone to accident!

Well hope this info helps! :)
Stick beside XP for awhile yet near are still problems getting worked out with Vista.
I've see quite a few empire asking how to go wager on to XP from using Vista
If buying new, you will own no choice but to go near Vista. I have be using it for about 2 months. Personally, I still approaching XP much better. It is more user friendly. Vista makes it markedly difficult to install programs where you want them. However, I must come clean that it is getting less annoying as time go on.
Unless you're going to buy refurbished/used you are going to have trouble finding XP. I've purchased several refurbished PC and enjoy had no problems next to them.

XP:

Pro - Your printer is going to work with it.

Con - No longer any support for it.

Vista:

Pro - A service pack will be out surrounded by the fall and hopefully will fix the connectivity issues.

Con - Your printer/camera/software/PDA might not work beside it.
yeah, buy a Mac, they don't hog your system resources, don't slow down over time, hold their value better, and overall are a short time ago more awesome! (yeah, more awesome than Vista, which copied off of apple for the intact OS) You can find a good one on eBay for pretty cheap. Heres a intermingle to a good one, its a laptop: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayisapi.dll?contend...
Stick with XP. Vista have alot of problems and they haven't been fixed nonetheless.
