Laptop or desktop for a 12 year aged?

im getting him any the 24 inch imac or a macbook when leopard comes out, he currently has a window xp desktop (sony vaio), he wants to upgrade his computer as its getting slow, but he also requests a laptop to surf the net everywhere, instead of anyone stuck iin his room, he wants to do it on his bed, downstairs, EVRYWHERE, so which is the better buy, upgrading his dekstop or getting him a laptop near his desktop, and which would he be more happy near? i dont want to here about free computers, or he doesnt want either, newly a straight forward answer please!

I remember you asking this question a month or so ago and I see it is getting alike kind of answers.

I know that respectively child is different and so I will answer this as if it was anyone else.

I would shift for the notebook as it would be more mobile allowing him have it near him.
It should depend on how responsible he is with his stuff. A nouns top is fragile, all it will filch to break it is one small drop off a bed, or have its lid slammed closed. A desk top is easier to upgrade. I hope this helps, Good hunting!

laptop im 14 and i enjoy a laptop and its more fun especially if your outside alot
