What is the best laptop to do multi-track CD on next to one nouns card??why does my current lptp skip?

i currently hold a hp pavillion dv5000 with amd turion 64. Is it fruitless for recording because it skips closely while recording and playback. what laptop should i buy? will apple be better? which one?

sorry to right to be heard this but mac's are the best for music and video editing. mac book pro is the way to run.
