Which laptop computer is best for me?

I'm surrounded by the market for a up to date laptop which will serve as a desktop replacement. I need plenty space for storing my music and photos as well as the dimensions to run something identical or equivalent to photo-shop.

Normal student stuff (internet access, Microsoft Office, etc.) go without dictum, I would think.

Preferably something that doesn't weigh a ton? Size of the peak isn't really that much of an issue for me... something average-size is good. Not too giant, not too teeny.

What would you recommend I look into?

Answer:
Dell (www.dell.com) right very soon is the #1 computer seller (pretty much tied w/ HP - www.hp.com)
Generally speaking I would suggest something w/ the Intel Core2Duo processor (right in a minute there isn't a processor out here which can compete -- and I used to be a huge AMD fan for times gone by 10 years). Graphics card of any sort would be handy but not needed if in recent times general use (ie, an actual nVidia or ATI card versus the built contained by Intel graphics).
You can easily find an 80GB thorny drive for laptops which would be a decent size for most things. Getting an external USB drive have been the most adjectives way of increasing storage dimensions for most purposes.
1GB of ram is minimum today ... though 2GB would impart you a better feel and won't cost much more.
Right immediately if you buy any new computer it will come near Vista -- don't worry almost it, it's actually a pretty right OS.

Unless you had more specific wishes, I would go w/ any Dell or HP. In my opinion they own held up pretty well over the years.

Also, if you see the prospect for "super bright" or something like that ... stir for it, these LCD displays are worth the extra $50. As far as LCD technology goes, these are some of the best looking monitors out in that.

For Dell... the Inspiron 1520 would be my suggestion.
Gateway mt3707!
awesome!
was on public sale for $600.00 @ Best Buy
Hello I would look into the lightweight, sleek, and slender Apple Powerbooks. They are excellent for anything that has to do beside Graphics. I own one and it was the best purchase I ever made.

Most apples come near Itunes for playing and organizing digital music, video files, and purchasing digital music online.

Check it out apple.com
I would influence a mac, but they dont run microsoft office as economically as pc's. but that is the lone thing (in my opinion) that pc's do better.
I agree beside the guy who mentioned the Dell, they have some excellent deal right now.

If I be looking at a Dell to fit what you are looking at I would personally look at the 1520 next to a Core 2 Duo processor and Nvidia 8600GT video card, 80+GB hard drive, etc, etc.

It is a 15" peak which isn't too big or teeny.

It is not light, but won't drag your arm stale either.

It have power similar to a mid-range home computer and should fit the bill well.

The LG R500 is nice, Asus have some excellent laptops, and the Sony FZ line would adjectives compete well next to the Dell I mentioned, but the Dell is about $200 or more cheaper than any of those.

If you are looking for a barebones domestic device you can get a Compaq starting at give or take a few $449. For all the "normal" stuff it would be okay, but start playing even the most core game and it will be worse than awful.
I enjoy 4 Dell Laptops. Right now they are the best buy on the souk and compatible with most university. They have a clothed warranty program and you could probably talk into a wearing clothes software bundle.

I have owned other brands, close to my Dells. Don't buy local retail specials, but order from dell, they will own it right out to you., you will probably have money vanished over. Try to get a spare freestyle from the get turn.
Toshiba makes the best laptops. You should bring a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it.
