Slow Computer?
I have the most up-to-date anti virus and ad aware and its verbs, i ran disk defrag and delete as many uneeded programs. Can anyone distribute some advice? To sustain the computer run like its capabile of?

ok duplicate kind of prob. be going on w/my comp. i have an prehistoric one 2...not sure what kind. but ok this guy come to fix it and he told me you should get a bright comp. every 2-3 years. id dont know why but he did. mature computers cant take greatly of stuff. yeaa idk thats whah he toldme haha.
I would suspect that you've gradually added applications to the laptop over time. 256mb RAM is not really fundamentally much when working with Windows XP, so it will start using the rugged drive as additional RAM - hence the constant hobby.
The best way to business with this is as follows:
- Backup your background
- Re-install Windows XP
- Re-install just the applications that you really involve
- Restore your data

I’m not sure, but here are some things to check.
How many icon are on the bottom right of the taskbar?
If it’s more then six it’s too copious, these programs are loading at start up and increase start up time and also use memory.
You can find some of these by clicking: start, Programs, Startup, then delete any that you don’t want starting up every time you boot up.
XP will also have a file name Prefetch, this file stores any application you own ever opened and make it ready to amenable again, again increasing start up time and using memory.
Go to C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete all files contained by the folder, do not delete the folder itself.
Many times programs put themselves into the startup file or prefetch minus asking or even telling you their doing this.
To prevent this I use a program call WinPatrol, it is highly recommended by Cnet and its users, and it’s free and take up very little space.

Go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" (without quotes) and click on "start up" tab, uncheck almost all of them. Once unchecked adjectives (if you want all not running your background), (by unchecking programs within startup tab, it will NOT remove your programs, you still can access it by going to Start>Programs.) You will recognize oodles programs that are running in conditions (thus slowing down your computer). Click exit without restart. (**NOTE: on msconfig prompt, lone go to start up tab, do not mess beside the rest of tabs as they are essential to keep it that course otherwise it will screw your laptop big time.) Next step would be deleting adjectives your temp Internet files, caches and prefetch folder (type prefetch surrounded by search, it'll find that folder for you), delete adjectives those files in prefetch folder.(do not delete THAT folder but in that folder) Then restart your computer. You will notice how express it start up without loading adjectives programs that is unnecessary. Lastly, it would be the best if you invest perchance another $100 to upgrade your memory card up to 512mb or 1GB (check with your laptop manufacture's spec's and look for maximum memory allowed and FSB (Front Side Bus) formerly you purchase those memory cards). More than likely, your laptop comes beside two memory slots. One usually located at the bottom of your laptop and other is usually under your keyborad.
