P3-700MHZ, 256MB, 20GB CDRW,14” TFT, BATTERY ADAPTER, WIN 2K,90 DAY WARRANTY
I understant that it includes a CD burner that I can play movies on, but what does P3-700MHK, 256MB, WIN 2K connote?
I just want a laptop that I can access the internet, use Microsoft applications, and upload and cut photos.
Answer:
i strongly recommend not to buy this laptop. a laptops life span is supposed to be 5 to 6 years contained by average. this laptop is about 6 years older (the Thinkpad T20 has be produced already in tardy 2000), thus you run the risk to waste your money because that laptop could die in a few months.
even if you're on a tight budget i would suggest to buy a new one. for what you want, a bottom of the column laptop without any bells and whistle will do.
i was looking around and found a pretty biddable and reliable one - a Compaq Presario. ok, it's $580 (+180 of the other price) but it's new, can also burn DVDs, have a much larger hard disk (what's exalted if you want to store a lot of photos) and have a 1 year warranty.
it's worth the money

Pentium 3, 700 MHz CPU clock speed, 256 Megabytes of RAM, 20Gigabyte Hard Drive, 14 inch thin picture transistor monitor, Windows 2000. You might have trouble beside the Microsoft apps unless you upgrade to Windows XP. Thinkpads are really durable laptops.
Everything checks out ok. However, I wouldn't pay partly the price for that machine. It's too elderly.
