My laptop error message 'unmountable boot volume' can I please obtain a fixit for my problem?

The message appears after the system have failed. I hold tried everything in nontoxic mode, from going to the last certain configuration that worked, to stopping the automatic system start up after system failure. I have just started to Install a program for my e-mail call 'Incredi-mail when the message said that I did not have ample space on drive C to finish. So I aborted installation and in attendance was an god left on my desktop to remind me to verbs and finish installation. I turned off the laptop and this morning when I go to boot up well the rest is already be said. Please, please someone please tell me adjectives is not lost because if it is......help! Thank you for your time.

This is probably because your boot.ini database is messed up. Here is a possible remedy:

Start Windows XP with the Windows XP compact disc in your CD/DVD drive.

Once you see the "Welcome to setup" message, press the missive 'R' on your keyboard to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the Windows installation to be repaired (you will have need of to know the administrator password.

You will then draw from a DOS prompt. from here, type: chkdsk /p [Enter]

When that is done type: fixboot [Enter]

Type: Y at the subsequent prompt [Enter]

Then type: exit [Enter]

The system will now reboot into Windows.

If for some explanation that didn't work, you can boot to the recovery console (example above).
Type: "chkdsk /r" [Enter]
When done type: exit [Enter].
This take a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.
