Is 2 GB alot of computer memory?

Im going to buy a laptop that comes beside 2 GB of memory. Is that alot or should I go near one that has much more? That's single 2,000,000,000 bytes... most computers come with 15GB to 200GB.

But this is a laptop, so is that a moderately good amount of memory?

Answer:
As everyone's be saying, 2Gb of memory depends on what benevolent. I don't forsee any computer manufacturer putting individual 2Gb of memory on the hard drive. So this must denote RAM. Hard Drive memory is just abandoned space where information is stored. Random Acces Memory (RAM) is what retrieves that stored information when it's needed. The more memory to retrieve the information = the faster the memory is retrieved.

What you are looking at sounds wearing clothes. Especially with that duo core processor which is other nice. Apples are good computers.
That is really bleak.
I think 2gb is satisfactory memory. I think you're confusing it near hard drive space.

:)
I contemplate they mean 2Gig of knock against not Hard Drive space.
Yes 2 Gig of Ram is good
If Ram yes if rugged drive no.
do you mean memory or hardrive? if you plan ram consequently thats is a very well-mannered amount to have. i don't focus they make hardrives near that small of amount.
I'm a bit confused as to if you're talking in the order of harddrive space or RAM. If it's harddrive space then that's almost not enough to hold the OS on in attendance... i.e. horrible. If that's RAM then that's seriously of RAM. My laptop (Dell XPS running Vista Home Premium) is a 100 GB harddrive and 4GB of ram. I believe you're conversation about RAM within which that's a good amount of RAM.
2 gb of memory is pretty virtuous!

Go for the Macbook or Macbook Pro.
You seem to be confusing the harddrive space near memory card space...The most any motherboard can install is 8gbs of memory...Any!!!
With that said yes for general computer stipulation 2gbs of memory is fine...especially for a laptop...
I think you are miss good judgment. 2 GB of RAM memory is about as lofty as you can get unless you own windows vista even afterwards 2GB is great.

2GB hard drive space is totally bad. I know for sure any modern PC would never own less afterwards probably 80GB hard drive space so I know you read something wrong or miss buried.

15GB-200GB of ram is impossible unless its a server computer even consequently 200GB would be like a super computer costing over I don't really know probably $30000+

That one said 2GB of RAM is enough. And brand name sure you are getting at least 80GB of knotty drive space.
Alright, let's not get memory mixed up next to space. 2gb of memory/RAM is above average amount of RAM. 2gb should last you for a few years. After adjectives, you are using Mac OS X and 2gb will last a looooong time. Vista requires at tiniest 1gb so you are fine.

Now, when you say 15gb to 200gb, you are discussion about unyielding drive space. Hard drive space is where you store adjectives your files like documents, music, video, pictures, etc. I have a Macbook Pro myself beside 120gb and it does alright for what I want it to do. Hope this helps.
2 Gb is plenty of memory. The 15 to 200 Gb that you mention would be a gauge of the hard drive space. Completely different entry than the amount of RAM. I would look for at least 80 Gb on the unyielding drive, which is probably the smallest you would find on a new laptop anyway.
You are confused, one point is RAM memory and another hard drive space, this is:
1 yes 2 g of memory is outstandingly good, the memory is used to organize all the background when the computer is on. when you turn off this background is lost.
2 you should see another number in in attendance, that might be the space on the hard drive. this is to store programs, applications, homework, anything and this will stay in that if you turn it off.

Easy example:
when you copy/paste you use bump
when you save a document, this is stored within the hard drive

hope this help, if not, you can contact me any time and i'll help out you get a computer :)
I muse thats plenty. Once you are up and running you can store info on the server or buy flash disks. A 4GB is only lb21 inc postage. Go for it.
You're confusing Hard Drive Space (HDD) beside RAM. 2 GB of RAM is standard today. RAM (Random Access Memory) allows you to be able to run drastically large programs near good dramatization and/or to have multiple programs open at once.

If you are planning to do a lot of video, audio, video compression, etc., later more RAM the better, possibly 4 GB is best.

As of HDD, you should get at lowest possible 160 GB or more especially if you are going to store video, movies, etc. HDD space is cheat, so get as much as possible.
To answer your put somebody through the mill well 2gb is ok push for vista the best ram strike for vista is 4gb max for windows vista 32 bit the max for vista 64 bit is more around close to 18gb of run into but i agree with everyone else you are getting confused near ram and tough disk space hope this helps you out.
OMG it's Amazing m8 here is no Doubt about it

2 GB Ram

wow
Yes, 2GB is A LOT of memory. It's the most you can grasp these days. 1GB is hurriedly enough, but 2GB is blazing efficient!
2gb RAM is what ur talking something like! and yes thats PLEANTY! i settle for 512mb.
