Can a virus fry your video card?

yeah, im not sure if it be a coincidence or not

Answer:
Nope.

So far, no virus has be able to physically verbs a piece of hardware. There were a few boot sector virus that could make a easier said than done drive unusable without some low-level formatting, but none that own fried a component.

Most likely it be either seated impolitely, poorly manufacturered or the fan spoilt on the heatsink.
no, i virus is solftware and the video card is hardware. however, there is a passageway. if the virus disabled your fan, consequently the computer would overheat, and maybe fry the video card although it is unlikely
I suppose it's supposedly possible for a virus to cause your video card to complete calculations at its max dimensions for an extremely long period of time. That would net it heat up and shorten its life span expectancy. But no, there is no virus within existence that can specifically destroy hardware.

I hold heard of virus that can cause your printer to spew out page colored entirely black, which would waste ink and tabloid as well as shorten the enthusiasm of your print head. But virus generally are powerless of physical damage.
