So I own tried just roughly speaking everything. I may have delete some factory installed programs to gain memory space. Would this affect the cd burner. It is just not detected anywhere on my system. I own a gateway laptop model MX6440 window XP system. In the event that it is defective and I get one at close to Best Buy, will I need to hold some special factory installed program to be able to use this or enjoy it recognized by my laptop? I use itunes and window media player. I'm a moment ago not sure. Another thing I hold noticed is that my itunes won't sync. Is this a related issue to the reality that my dvd burner is crapped out or is this a whole foreign ballgame? Please some one give me some guidance. The gateway tch support is useless. What solutions do I have? There also is a message pop up red X circle that say the dvd/cd drive burner is not installed or located or it's something along that line. Reinstall software, buy a up to date dvd/cd drive, fix a registry error, how do I make it work? Please Anyone?

If you aren't getting any power it's more than likley done for, but try changeing the power molex contained by side your PC to a diffrent one, as it could be a problem with the power railing it is on, chances are you will hold one or two spare if still nothing next i would say it be busted
