Connecting laptop to internet?

I know this interview has be answered before, but I'm gonna ask anyways merely to make sure that I go and get it right before I buy a laptop next to wi-fi built in.

I hold 2 desktop computers at my home; my dad uses one and I use the other one. His computer has a wireless router and my comp have a wireless adapter.

How do I connect to internet using the desktop computer with a wireless adapter?

The lone thing I can estimate of is unhooking the wireless adapter from my desktop computer and hook it on to my laptop to get internet nouns, but my desktop comp wouldn't have internet nouns.

Are there more option?

Answers:
you just have need of a laptop with a wireless adapter(most laptops already enjoy it) ... you can connect to your dad's router just by going to control panel... exchange cards connections...your dad's router should be detected and then connect
