Just Upgraded My RAM, should I re-format?

I freshly upgraded my RAM to 2gb. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. Should I re-format it to get the operating system for it to properly work beside the new memory?

Answer:
It is NEVER needed. Although the rest here are recounting you that, I don't think they're person blunt enough!

Upgrading RAM doesn't affect your Windows installation. The system will in a jiffy recognize the other RAM and adjust your page file as expected. Reinstalling Windows would be a waste of time.
its a plug and play device. Nah... there's no inevitability to reformat it. Just make sure that your computer is turned bad when you install that and always discharge your static when holding that memory. ***EDIT: Ooops, I stand corrected. I thought this be a desktop upgrade. :)
Not necessary, nor suggested. If you be to replace your motherboard with a different model next yes. If you were to dance from a Duo to a Quad processor, then yes.
No have need of, Windows uses whatever RAM is shown surrounded by the BIOS settings automatically.
It's not mandatory. Vista should work with the RAM upgrade merely the same.
You Do not obligation To reformat it will run fine.
Install the ramchip in the computer lap/desk-top.
plug the power and monitor signal cable support in and turn it on.

The CMOS/BIOS should read the auxiliary ram chip or upgraded strike. Their have be on occasions, (very rare) but I hold been taken by the hardware to the system COMS/BIOS after installing a bump chip.

If that happens to you afterwards just hit the (ESC) push button and accept the change and go on around your business.

Of course it always recommended that you shift to My Computer and right click and select properties and read the screen in attendance to be sure that the ram is reading the correct amount.

You could drop to a command prompt and type this.

MEM/C|more Then hit enter

Let me expand that out for a time so it's more readable.

MEM / C | MORE

Then hit enter but type them all together.

Hope this help
