Can I SLI a 7950 GT card near a 7900 GT Video Card?

I enjoy an EVGA 7950 GT (512 MB) video card and a 7900 GT (256 MB) video card. I need to know if I can couple these together contained by SLI for better performance? I thought I have heard that any cards surrounded by the same series could be coupled contained by SLI mode and I dont care if Im forced to use solely 256 MB of RAM or if they run at the slowest speed between the 2 cards.

If it is possible, can anyone tell me how to do this please? I hold the SLI bridges from both cards, do I need both and which card and which of the 2 DVI slots (as within are 2 per card) do I attach my monitor to?

Thanks a ton in mortgage for your answer and possibly saving me alot of money.

Answer:
It may work since both cards use Nvidia's G71 GPU. This could be of assist:

From the SLI site: http://www.slizone.com/page/slizone_faq.

It sounds close to you *have* to have *identical* GPU chips on your video boards, although diff. mfgs., RAM and speeds are OK.

So, no, don't try it. 7950GT single with another 7950GT - *any* other 7950GT
