Quick Question just about upgrading RAM?

MY friend be throwing out his old PC and offered me his RAM. Not sure what size it is. I'm not sure weather its compatiable near my computer. I have a Packard-bell Imedia MC 1804:http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/i...

All the RAM say on it is: "Hynix 150A" and "Hy57V28820HCT-H"

Could someone tell me if its compatiable next to my PC and what would happened if i tried it and it wasnt compatiable.

Thanks within advance !

Answer:
You can run a free examination at http://www.crucial.com and find out what kind of RAM (memory) your computer requests. It will automatically test your system and make clear to you what you need and hold in the computer (each slot).

You can win cheap memory at http://www.tigerdirect.com or http://www.newegg.com
if the RAM fits in the extra RAM slots its probably compatable
(you may have need of to use the add hardware wizard)
what your friend give you was workstation 133 sdram, and your machine take pc3200 ddr
check if the ram on your computer is same as the hit from your friend....if it is the same size and can fit contained by your computer memory slots then within should be no problem...your can still try if it works on your pc...that if you know how to purloin of a ram and put it wager on on...

When you insert the ram into your computer u should check if it sitting properly into the memory slots and sort sure it is facing the right position....

otherwise if your ram is not duplicate as your friend then it is not compatiable to your laptop....

hope that helps....cheers
