Can i lift a stick of push out of 1 computer and put into another 1? can i mix and contest them.?

Many years ago, manufacturers made us do what you speak of; we have to use 2 sticks of RAM, and they both had to be EXACTLY like... no more! as long as your RAM is the same model (like my Wife's HP have a stick of Kinston, and a no brand stick; one is 256Mb, while the other is 128, giving her a total of 384Mb... which was abundantly better than the 128 the PC came beside... The thing to reward attention to is the number of Pins, and the speed of the RAM. In the older computers, they usually run at 100mhz or 133mhz... even though both had indistinguishable number of pins (168pin DIMMs; Dual Inline Memory Moduals), one runs a bit faster than the other... with that surrounded by mind, you can use a 133Mhz stick in a system that uses 100Mhz, because running slower won't hurt the stick... but if you tried to use a 100Mhz stick contained by a system that uses 133Mhz, you can burn out the chips (at the least), or even fry the motherboard. Most of the newer RAM sticks are 184pin SDRAM, or DIMM, but when they talk of the speed (frequency running through the chips) they largely give them a given name such as PC2100, PC2700, PC3300... again, all these own the 184 pins, and will all fit contained by the same slots... the with the sole purpose danger here is; try to stick beside the same type of RAM, although you can put a PC3300 stick, into a computer that solitary needs PC2700, The rule here is commonly the same as the elder RAM sticks; you can use a pc2700 stick in a system that uses pc2100 (becuase pc2700 is rate for a little faster than the mother boards' pc2100 RAM) but if you try to use RAM that may be over-worked, or over-heated, it can fry your system.

Yes, and no. You have to look out that the RAM is compatible with the motherboard. There are different types of RAM (it should speak the type on the card) and you should be careful to put together sure that these match next to the original ones within the computer. But otherwise, if these types match, you should be well-mannered to go as far as mixing and harmonizing them.
You shouldn't have any problems simply as long as they are the same TYPE of strike (DDR, DDRII, SDRAM). Mixing ram from different manufacturer shouldn't cause you any problems.
If you hold an option, it's usually best to game the RAM. However it is possible to put RAM from two different brands of ram contained by a machine. Usually the mother board of the domestic device will dictate that you must match the "size" of respectively ram chip.

If the computer is a dell, forget it...they only hold one kind of memory stick~Dell. But any other logically. I took a 256 stick from one computer that I put a new 512 mb run into and put it in another computer that already have a 256 mb ram and I made 512, they other have to contest though, no putting a 128 with a 256. It doesn't work.
