i devise you should run a virus or spyware check because sometimes they can cause this genus of problems...or might be you ram is self used up by a recently installed software.....

Im from Australia, and because I suspect your using window vista or XP it didn't calculate it properly... ether that or you didn't put it within properly and it's not correctly working make sure that adjectives the pins are inside the port and the clips are in right... also they might be 'clashing' near each other
but usualy window or mac computer tell you that you own exactly 256mb of ram... most of the time they'll explain to you that you have 212mb or something depending on how plentiful programs your running in the background/foreground
This is a sure means of access of telling you that your RAM is failing bar that I can't think of any point else that would cause this sort of problem. if you own two strips of memory in your computer afterwards only one of those is failing or if both have failed you would own lost the lot. get it checked out

Ah, yes I enjoy seen this, personaly. It took a few days but it come back. I have a memory card go impossible, well I suspect that just one chip on the card actually substandard bet at the cost of memory it wasn’t worth my time to try to isolate the chip and repair the card.
It could take moderately some time but you will see it again if you are having indistinguishable problem. Do you remember what you were doing when it be reduced? If so try to reproduce it. If not you can try a memory utility to test your RAM. If you don’t hold a utility to test your memory you could try to nouns a bunch of programs to tax you system. You know play a video profile (in-background) and a game and I don`t know Internet browser. Just keep first showing programs all at duplicate time until you nearly max-out your RAM. With only 256Mbytes it shouldn’t steal too long. ;-)
I don’t see that it matters for this interrogate but I am from the USA and currently living in the Marshall Islands.
