I'm pretty impressed with AMD lately. I own some servers with dual AMD processors and they are rather good, esp. below Linux
this would really be up to the individual . personally your not going to see a heck of allot of difference within the two , no matter what populace might try to tell you , however next to that being said i prefer
AMD , for a couple reason , IMO they are better made , more reliable , and in my 15 + years of working on pc's . and doing network , last longer
I approaching my AMD Turion 64 X2. Fast and easy on the gas.
At the moment, zilch is touching the Core2. I have used AMD surrounded by my last 5 computers and be very impressed but switched over to the Pentium 955EE and loved it, although AMD did own faster. I just only just upgraded to the QX6700 and at the moment there isn't a chip from AMD that beat it in almost any benchmark you want. Of course it's a $1,000 chip, but it's profusely of bang for that buck.
Its comes incredibly close but right now and for a long time Intel is governing. AMD is catching up very vigorous and it might beat intel soon.
The Fastest home processor right presently is the Intel Core 2 Duo
but the AMD 64 X2 is close behind.
AMD is plentifully cheaper, so I would buy I AMD if i needed a computer.
All depends on how you use your computer, each processer is best for sure things. Some are for heavy gaming, while others are for simple computeing everyday things.
So if your into a lot of gaming you may want intel. But if you basically using your computer for basic stuff, interent and so so, after AMD would be fine. I use AMD and it works fine for me. I can have the internet browser interested, word, itunes and messangers and my computer runs just fine.
I hold built several desktop PC's, recently using both Intel (P4) and AMD (Athlon). My Intel contrivance is in my living room and is used for medium while the AMD machine is surrounded by my office.
Of the two desktop machines I resembling the AMD better as it seems to boot up and run apps faster than the Intel tool.
I have used Audacity (a nouns editing program) on both machines. The AMD is quicker in processing when performing a similar job in Audacity.
