I enjoy 2 settle thorny drives. Can I append a SATA thorny drive?

Yes, my computer is setup contained by a similar manner but I enjoy IDE drives as backup and my boot as SATA. In most cases, it won't make a fuss, a moment ago make sure you enjoy the appropriate drivers and boot settings in the BIOS. There are some instances where on earth you may need to do some tweaking because the BIOS will failure to pay the SATA to RAID or can only be used as RAID if plugged contained by the incorrect port. In these cases, you need to refer to the motherboard instruction manual to see how to properly set the SATA so it doesn't mistakenly think you want a RAID configuration.
As a side-note, the biggest trouble I've have with SATA be that during XP installations, even though you may have the SATA as the first boot drive, it will place IDE drive controllers up to that time the SATA. My work around was to disable the IDE from the BIOS and next install XP on the SATA and re-enable them after the installation. This problem I didn't have when installing Vista however.
I would right to be heard you should be able to do it . Once connected Windows will probably ask for drivers etc and depending on your motherboard you may hold to set boot order etc
It is particularly okay as long as your motherboard supports SATA.
