Anybody know the power requirments for a Radeon 9550 256mb video card?
i want to take this card... i only own a 250watt power supply though, and im broke so i dont want to buy a new power supply if i dont own to. im trying to figure out if this piece uses a lot more power than my current card (64mb MX4000), i dont currently own any power issues. i tried sapphire's support forum, and i literally got call a "10 year old f*** twat" by one of their support society because im not very tech savvy, so im for a while leary of buying from them now, but the card get good reviews and is a honest value so i still might achieve it if the power requirements are right.... i cant find a minimum suggested power supply listed anywhere doing internet seraches and checking manufacturer's website, and ive be told 250w and 300w by two different people, so if you hold a source that'd be great. thanks surrounded by advance!

It depends on how much power the rest of your system is using. But, it should be fine. If you buy the card and spy that your PSU is no longer cutting it, in that are cheap PSUs that are good competence that will be able to power it no problem. just about dell PSUs being proprietary, I believe they stopped that a while rear. This site says they just used proprietary PSU wirings from '96 to 2000. so you should be fine if you needed to replace.

Based on the card specs listed at Newegg, you should be OK.
If you are running multiple complex drives you night be stressing it, but I run pretty much duplicate card in my stock Compaq beside 2 internal HD and two optical drives, 2GB ram and its fine.
It is strong for us to know if you will need a bigger power supply lacking knowing what is installed on the PC.
Different configurations will have different power requirements.
So if you have say, 2 intricate drives, 2 optical drives, 4 sticks of ram, a video card, and 3 PCI cards installed, you might call for a bigger power supply.
But if you only hold 1 hard drive, 1 optical drive, 2 sticks of hit and a video card and a modem, you might not.

Though, you will probably not requirement a bigger PSU in my judgment. Neither of those cards are power hogs.
you should be fine i had impossible to tell apart card a a budget pc i built a while fund and also had a 250watt power supply.
