Depending on what you want your computer sound to do and how copious speakers that you want to hook up will determine which one of these cards that is right for you. Recently, most computers enjoy motherboards with intensely high characteristic sound processors already built into them including jacks to hook up a 5.1 surround nouns system. So, you may not even need a nouns card and it would just be a dissipate of your money to get one.

There are affordable ones like the Soundblaster 5.1 and the expensive high-end resembling the x-fi series.
