My RealPlayer keep stopping after a few second?

My RealPlayer keep stopping regardless of what video source I play from. I have CCleaner which I thought would assistance but it doesn't optimize my system very ably. Could my problem be that I have too much surroundings software running which could interfere with my playbacks? I've tried restarting my PC & running "msconfig" to stamp out potential problems but it doesn't help much. (I hold MS XP, 60 GB HD, plenty of RAM & a cable modem -- it's a desktop & not wireless) Thanks...

Answer:
I would HIGHLY recommend you not use RealPlayer. It's pretty much universally known as horrible software. I've particular many race, myself included, that had it mess near my computer in ways I didn't authorize. It's certainly listed contained by several "Worst software ever" lists.
You should try using any other medium software to play back your files and see if that corrects the problem. Hardly anyone uses the RealPlayer format anymore, and I've never encounter a problem that wasn't fixed by uninstalling it :-)
An excellent all around player that affords you much better control is VLC player. It supports every video/audio format I've ever tried surrounded by it, and last I checked, supports some RealAudio formats.
