Computer facilitate please?

My computer lately crashed. This one is a spare. When I turn it on it startes up like it should it say HP then it go to the XP screen next it just starts adjectives over agin. I called HP and they be no help. The computer didn't come next to start up disks either. Have any accepted wisdom on how to fix it or what's wrong.

while the 3rd answer is good, try hitting F8 come up within safe mode an see if you can plug contained by a usb external drive and save your facts, if so then use the restore function and after reload your data. you may also want to be in motion to F8 and try using "last known good" first since you hold not logged into the computer yet.
remove any just now installed hardware. Disconnect all devices that are unwanted to start up. (Modem, DVD Drives, etc)
Check the grounding.
When the HP screen pops up press f10 until the system restore blind comes up, and press restore.
Your computer will delete all your personal documents and any silver made after you first bought it, and returns to how it was close to when you first bought it.
