No. You will need min 512mb next to Home Basic and 1Gb for premuim
not enough, you must increase memory
It may in fact run, but would be pointless for trying to do anything, as the RAM would constantly be re-written and you may not be able to run any programs, which is the complete point of having an operating system.
Windows Vista Recommends at lowest possible 1GB of ram so If you attempt to install it on your HD I'm pretty positive that it would stop the installation freshly like lots games will. But if it were to succeed consequently it would run slower than any thing you could enjoy imagined.
Definitely No - you need at least possible 500Meg Ram. Better 1 Gigabites RAM. Get a new computer that take the new sims memory chips. Then near is the cache memory size to consider to run Vista. That alone is way more than your 256k RAM.
It will still run, near very slow speed.
A foolproof example will be:
Imagine yourself driving a car and you run out of fuel. The car will still know how to move if you push it but it will be extremely slow and painful.
Fuel = Memory
Car = Vista
From everything I've read the answer is no but if you want to know for sure stir to Microsoft.com. and from there you can download the window Vista update advisor and it will tell you whether your PC is adept of running Vista.
Vista will run horribly slow if at all near 256MB. Microsoft recomend a minimum of 512MB, but to get the best from Vista 1GB is better.
