Universities and schools other dump theirs. You might want to ask them for free. Expect to sign some papers. Your other option is word of mouth. If I am going to trash something that you want to play next to it (Mr. Inventor) than I gladly endow with it to you. Other options: garage sale, flea markets and thrift stores
Have you tried The Salvation Army? Sometimes they hold PCs they recondition for sale. But typically pretty frail stuff.
