I am not getiing any nouns from my workstation. anyone know whats wrong?

you need to install the drivers,even in need a soundcard there is still a built contained by soundcard on your motherboard.Find the drivers and you should be ok.
You can also try doing windows update if you own a legitmate copy(Most people who enjoy XP pro do not). Most of the time it will pick up older drivers.
When you upgraded Windows to XP it simply didnt detect what appropriate drivers are needed for your SOUND CARD...
In direct to find your SOUNDCARD drivers, you need to know the BRAND and MODEL # of your soundcard...
Or if it is a prebuilt system approaching DELL< HP< <COMPAQ or any of those, what is the BRAND AND MODEL #?

sounds approaching your soundcard failed, mine be broken for a while and sometimes just restarting the computer did the trick also check nouns connections and the sound control menu to take home sureits not just on mute

if u dont have a bit speaker on the bottom right hand side of your eyeshade it is your built in nouns card driver go to someones house that have Internet and down load drivers for your computer. put them on disc or flash drive.later install them on your computer. if u have factory disk they are on within. go to control panel/ system tools / hardware. find nouns card, update driver. when promted incert disk.
