Full tough drive but I didn't pack it up.?

I know I enjoy spyware and adware on my computer. I tried spybot but that didn't remove any of the stuff. I don't have the money to clutch it in to own it professionally done. Were does this stuff hide? Can I remove it manually? How? Windows 2000 OS, 512 RAM and 9 Gig Hard Drive.

Step 1) DON'T PANIC! Take a deep breath and dance grab a cup of your favorite beverage. This may lug awhile.
Step 2) Clean up your pc. Remove programs you don't use via the Add/Remove Programs surrounded by the Control Panel. In Vista, you remove programs by clicking Programs and Features in the Control Panel. Step 3) Create a brand new System Restore point. Click Start>All Programs> Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Create a restore point. Now delete all but this most recent restore point. Click Start>All Programs>Accessories> System Tools>Disk Cleanup. Click More Options tab, and after under System Restore, click Clean up. Click Yes to remove adjectives but the most recent restore point. Click OK, click Yes, and then click OK.
Step 4) Now let's start to go and get rid of those nasties. Download the following programs to your Desktop. You should then install respectively one, but don't run them yet. Patience...tolerance.

I know this seems close to overkill, but until someone can come up with one program that can detect everything surrounded by the wild, we entail to use programs from several reputable sources.
