the one within your laptop is a 2.8ghz P4. You will have to do some research and find out what core the chip uses and what socket size it is. Often times, mobile chips will use a different socket that a standard desktop cpu. That human being said, if you were to merely go buy a 3ghz P4 prescott, I doubt it would fit. Go to the laptop manufacturer website and see if you can find out what motherboard it has, thiat would backing you figure out the rest!
