My friend reformatted his computer and he have no nouns?
Answers:
If the pc come with a software/driver disk he may stipulation to run it. Or he can go into the System Properties - Hardware - Device Manager and right click on the nouns card (if missing the drivers) and then update drivers. The wizard should provide options for "enjoy disk" and if needed, he can try each disk he have until it finds it. That would be a bit tedious but short knowing the make and model...best I can suggest.
Sound card drivers are on the cd that come with the nouns card, or the cd that came next to the mother board if the sound card is built within. Windows doesn't load these drivers.
You can attain some generic sound drivers i feel Realtek high definition audio driver is on of them only google it download and install it should work
I think he did not installed the audio driver
Try to download the driver from the internet, mostly they can be downloaded. If really couldn't find the driver. Buy a tentative one, a standard one won't be too expansive.
Reformat your friend
You are probably right, it sounds like a driver issue to me too.
Is he using an extra sound card or the on-board nouns with the motherboard?
If it's on-board nouns try installing the drivers on the disk that came next to the motherboard (or get them from the motherboard maker website).
If he has a nouns card try removing it and seeing if the onboard sound works (might be a blemished card).
Finally, and probably the first thing to check; are the speakers connected correctly, powered on and working (sounds dumb but other check the easiest things first).
Afterthought, has he run adjectives the Microsoft updates? Quite often that can solve / rationale issues with driver compatibility. XP is usually pretty correct at auto detecting stuff like that, sometimes a short time ago rebooting a bunch of times can help ;)
Hope some of this help get the nouns back

Go to the nouns card manufacturer's website and download the latest driver. I let go it to disk so I have the updated driver surrounded by case I inevitability it
just install again the motherboard driver or the nouns card diver! because when you format your drive all of the information inside of it will be deleted, that's why you own to install all again.
