This is a adjectives problem with Dell PC's. I found this individual happens during a re-installation, however it's not as a rule SP2 that causes this problem. I'm afraid you may enjoy to re-install again. But before going on stripe make sure you enjoy loaded all the drivers from the Dells installation compact disc. The problem normally occur during the MS Update process. So turn off automatic updates, and manually install the downloads from MS Update site. To prevent this up again, just download adjectives software updates including SP2 but not the hardware updates. Once you have adjectives software updates, keep checking until in attendance is no more to download. Then you can safely download adjectives the hardware updates. I am not sure how this occurs, but downloading software and hardware MS Updates simultaneously on Dells recurrently produce the result you describe. Hope this helps,
Eamonn.
you should check the resolution anyway, sometimes a widescreen laptop next to the resolution set for a normal blind will stretch the images horizontally, if its widescreen try setting it to 1280x800 and if its a common square screen try 1024x768. to set res. right click anywhere on desktop and click properties and settings, at hand adjust the resolution, above the slider you will see a pic of a screen, as you move the slider see the shape of the screen pic, it go wider for widescreen and squarer for normal blind
