Are eMachine Computers Good?

That specific one is a bad choice. First, it doesn't enjoy a video card. A video card isn't a requirement for Sims 2 (though it's VERY HIGHLY reccomended, and it is a requirement for almost every game made within the last couple of years), it one and only has 512MB of RAM, which is only just enough to run Vista alone. Throw a hobby ontop of that you're running at terrible speeds (it might not even be plenty to run it at all beside Vista installed). And Celeron processors are very thinned, they are known as budget processors, connotation they're cheap and crap.
Looking at their website, none of their PCs have video cards, which you're definatly going to want, and none above 1GB RAM (1GB RAM is okay, though 2 would REALLY support, espicially with Vista), and they adjectives use Celeron or Pentium processors, which are outdated/crap today. Get a C2D or AMD Athlon X2.
Basically, look elsewhere. And don't worry in the region of the brand, get the best specs.

I have an emachines T6528, and it works great! It have an AMD64 3500 processor - and I added 1GB ram--I only enjoy $500 dollars invested in it and am highly happy near it--Ive had it for 1 year presently.
i have an eMachines computer and it get slower after a year if u buy a cheaper computer from it...
emachinces is just a cheap reproduction of compaq and hp
emachines is a cheaper version of gateway so my personal feelings is to stay away from any gateway product as they suck ***
If you want a powerful computer to use processor heavy applications next no an emachine is not a good choice they are typically word processing and internet browsing computers that can play simple programs a great computer for what you want to do would be an HP if you want window and Apple if you want mac HP may be more expensive yet they are incredibly reliable
I enjoy been using eMachine brand computers since around 2004 and I love it!
I know alot of general public say "Oh they are the doomed to failure make, cheap make" but doesn`t matter what. They couldn't be more wrong. They make really honest pcs for a great price. They could be charging higher for the pcs if they really required to.
I mean...you won't be capable of do BIG gaming or something that requires alot ALOT of memory/ram/ect. but for usual multimedia stuff you would be just fine.

I am using an eMachines computer right in a minute and it is great, I don't know why people don't resembling, or they are probably talking just about older version...I've had for a almost 2 years very soon and its running fast...But its probably how you run things...Mine come with a Dual LAyer DVD Burner, 8 contained by 1 Media Reader 80 GB Hard drive but I ordered a 250GB hard drive closing week...1 GB memory...SO far its run every program a threw at it...even programs to copy DVD's...But the one your going to get sounds better than mine so I would return with that one...My sister has a Compaq computer and it run slow, it cost $1,200 and mine is like 4x faster and it be about $500 ...SO goodluck on your choice...
As associates have said, eMachines are simply more economic performance of other more popular and expensive makes. However, I enjoy had angelic experience of them in olden times. If you are thinking of an eMachine because of cost, I would say dance ahead. You can always start upgrading bits and pieces within the future.
