My computer will not play any nouns - relieve!?
its a Sony Viao...and the hotkeys don't work any...
Answer:
maybe you enjoy to reconfigure you latop sound. Go to control panel and nouns options and play beside things around there and after get it t o work. But if that doesnt work use system restore.
hold you got the right drivers installed on my laptop i have to install the drivers of the internet i think the website be www.pcservicecall.co.uk
seems similar to you have no nouns card...or no drivers.
Uninstall it and reinstall it. Right click my computer, properties, hardware devices, find the sound drivers - uninstall and next click scan for new hardware - and restart the computer.
In directive to better help, we would entail to know your operating system (Windows XP? Vista? Linux?). Also, when you said the computer "says it does not have a nouns device installed," when does it tell you this? After you hit "Play" within Windows Media Player? Or when you try to adjust the Sound Properties in the Control Panel?
If you are running XP, manufacture sure the sound device is ENABLED. If it is, you could try to disable it, reboot, and after enable the device. This have worked for me for various things (such as Internet nouns being down..). To disable:
- Right click on My Computer, choose Properties
- Click on Hardware tab, click on Device Manager
- Click on "plus" sign subsequent to Sound, Video, and Game Controller
- Open the properties for your Sound Device (Sigmatel?) by double-clicking on it.
- At the bottom of this window, devolution the Device Usage option. (If it is already disabled, you should see it and try to play sound again -- it may hold gotten disabled somehow...).
Hope this helps... More info on your system should be nifty for further troubleshooting.
