I own a HP dc5000 tower.I hear the HDD rev up really speedy sometimes and don't know why?

Happens when I depart IE, Windows Explorer, apps. I've done most things: delete cookies, temp and internet temp files, there are no conflicts, I own ample RAM @ 1GB. It has be doing this for a very long time so if it be to go unpromising it should have done it a long time ago. You label it, I may have done it. When I open out Task Manager, CPU usage is alot but then mysteriously slows done almost as soon as I unstop TM. Help!!

Answer:
this is quite adjectives when the computer tends to age... nought to worry give or take a few.....

the HDD cannot rev more the preset speed 7200RPM no worries that it will get dog-eared....

for better performance....

1)in run porthole put " %temp% " hit enter delete all files contained by that folder..

2)type msconfig in run....within "startup" tab unselect all the option and press ok to restart system

3)defragment all drives periodically...this have tremondos effect on system....if will fast notebook by atlest 200% ..very decisive..

4)finall remove all the unnecessary softwares from you system..choose a moral firewall like...pc-cillin..if at adjectives you are using one....which uses very little knock against

use asmw pc optimiser..it will be adjectives to fix most problems which cant be done directly by us....
you have 1gb gone then you necessitate to defragment your pc and gain rid of unwanted programs i have 75% of my notebook and i run fine but i have 16gb vanished and it`s old still on me not xp or vista
I've have multiple problems with HP systems over the years and my number one problem be with firm disks failing. If I were you, I'd backup adjectives your data and make available a call to HP (if you enjoy a warranty). Also, make sure adjectives the drivers are up to date (see if maybe at hand is a BIOS upgrade too).

When all else fail on an HP, you may just necessitate to reinstall the OS (in other words, start fresh and update everything, including the BIOS). Check inside the computer, make sure everything is seated alright (like the memory), and ensure the disciple isn't causing the crack (HP support once replaced a fan for me although it be really the hard drive...but it never hurts to only just ensure it's okay). Good luck, I feel your backache as a former HP owner (I migrated to Dell for a desktop and Toshiba for a laptop -- I'm much less stressed now).
